FREE TRAINING: How To Write And Launch A Bestselling Book In 1 Hour A Day |
Last week, I did something crazy. I picked up my phone and called someone I haven't spoken to in a while. Crazy, right?
I called her because she just graduated with her second degree and I thought she would appreciate a call. Plus it would be great to hear her voice. Of course, I liked her Instagram post like everyone else, but I wanted to use this as an opportunity to let her know how proud I was of her and how awesome she is.

Month #6 is here! I can’t believe the year is almost halfway over. For this month, we are going to raise money for Muscular Dystrophy Association.
Before we dive in, let’s look back at the first five months:
Earlier this week I had the privilege to attend a Q&A with Magic Johnson at an Oracle NetSuite networking event. My good friends Easton and Kendall invited me as Kendall was the one interviewing Magic so shoutout to them!
For those of you that don't know, my family and I are die-hard Lakers fans. Magic Johnson is and always has been my favorite basketball player. His jersey was the very first jersey I bought for my bar mitzvah back when I was 13. I wore the number 32 my entire childhood to honor both him and Sandy Koufax as I mostly played basketball and baseball. To say I was excited to learn from him was quite the understatement. Month #5 is here and it’s a special one! For the month of May, we are going to be raising money for Pencils of Promise (PoP).
Before we dive in, let’s look back at the first three months:
What does a greeting really mean?
This probably isn’t something you think about very often. It might even be something you’ve never thought twice about. And, that is why I’m bringing it to your attention. The way we greet others and the way others greet us can tell us a lot about our relationship with that person. It can tell us how we feel about someone else without realizing it, how they make us feel, and at the same time, it can tell them how we feel about them. I’m going to write this a bit differently than my normal articles. One side is going to be from you giving a greeting while the other will be you receiving the greeting. It has come to my attention that people, yes all people, want to be loved, have a sense of belonging, and feel that they matter. Crazy, right?
It has also come to my attention that we are so focused on ourselves, how many likes we get, followers we have, things to do, etc., that we lose sight on giving people what we know they want. If we know that people want to feel loved, like when they are complimented, or even feel great when you remember something about them, then why don’t we attempt to do this more often. Why don’t we attempt to give people these feelings more? This bonus charity and mini campaign is brought to you by longtime supporter of the Giving Challenge who is participating in a half marathon this Sunday to raise money and awareness for Teach for America.
You can donate directly here. Month #4 is here which means it’s SHOWTIME! For the month of April, we are going to be raising money for Feeding America.
Before we dive in, let’s look back at the first three months:
We’ve had donors from all over the country! Major shoutout to those of you who are making a monthly contribution to the Giving Challenge. Earlier this week I ventured to Louisville, KY for the Kentucky DECA State Conference. It was my first DECA state conference, first trip to Louisville, and outside of the freezing cold weather, it was AWESOME! :)
When I got there I met the team and told them I was so excited to be in Louisville for the first time. Of course, I said it Lou-E-Ville and within seconds everyone was laughing or looking at me like I was from another planet. At first I was a bit confused, but then they explained that it's not pronounced that way but rather it's pronounced Lull-Vulle. Considering that I was thinking about saying Louisville in my speech, I spent a good portion of the rest of the night trying to break my habit. Month #3 is here which means it’s SHOWTIME! For the month of March we are going to be raising money for Saving Innocence.
Before we dive in, let’s look back at the first two months:
In total, we’ve had over 30 donors and a few repeat people. Shoutout to those of you who are making a monthly contribution to the Giving Challenge |
