Pencils of Promise - Month #5 of the 2019 Giving Challenge

Month #5 is here and it’s a special one! For the month of May, we are going to be raising money for Pencils of Promise (PoP).
 
Before we dive in, let’s look back at the first three months:

• Cystic Fibrosis - $620
• Thirst Project - $110
• Saving Innocence - $100
• Feeding America - $150

We’ve had donors from all over the country! Major shoutout to those of you who are making a monthly contribution to the Giving Challenge.
 
This month is very exciting to me because I am able to tie my passions of sports, education, and charity into one month.
 
On the sports side, we have two huge events coming up, PBC Celebrity Influencer Game and Professional Basketball Combine.
 
For the PBC Celebrity Influencer Game, a portion of all profits are going to Pencils of Promise and our campaign as a way to provide the SoCal community with an incredible event while also raising money for charity.
 
For the Professional Basketball Combine which features 24 NBA draft prospects, we get to tie this event to PoP and use our platform to raise awareness and money. What’s really exciting is that a lot of our players will end up playing in America and all over the world and maybe even in a country that builds a PoP school. To take it even further, this year at the PBC we are introducing an educational component for all the players to help them succeed on and off the court.
 
The synergies couldn’t be more perfect and I hope that you will all get behind this incredible initiative and support us as we aim to raise $50,000 over time to build and dedicate a school.
 
Even if we don’t reach out school goal, for every $75 we raise, we can provide a student with a year’s worth of education!
