Earlier this week, I went to visit four colleges in Rhode Island. Luckily for me, the state is pretty small so I was able to cover a lot of ground. It also helped that these four colleges were all pretty close to one another.
My mission was to walk into each school and find decision makers who brought in speakers as well as meet with the athletic department at Providence College.
I had no meetings scheduled. No one was expecting me. No one knew who I was. I was just showing up and going for it. I wasn’t sure what to expect but I knew that I would have to be creative and make sure that I was sharp with my elevator pitch and reason for being there.
This is definitely one of my top 5 episodes of The Elevate Beyond Show. Yes, it's episode 05, but it was one of the most authentic episodes yet. Joey Graham, the owner of Going Forward is doing incredible things combining brand building with motivational messaging.
In this episode, Joey and I discuss the process of building a business and pursuing your dreams. We talk about the road to greatness and what it takes to get up every morning and do something you love.

Unless you are from Iowa or follow college basketball, you probably never heard of Jordan Bohannon. But a few weeks ago, Jordan Bohannon became a viral sensation after making one, single decision on the court.
With about 2 minutes left in a close game against Northwestern, Bohannon stepped to the free throw line in what would become an impact moment in his life and in Iowa basketball history. This wasn’t just any free throw, but rather it was a chance to become the new record holder for Iowa basketball for most consecutive free throws made. The current record was held by Iowa legend, Chris Street who was tragically killed in a car accident. Unfortunately due to the accident, Chris never had a chance to continue his streak, so in this moment, Bohannon decided to miss the free throw and remain tied with Chris for the record.
Can you believe it's already March? We're almost a quarter of the way done with 2018! Now that 2018 is well underway, I thought it would be great to bring up goal setting. Most of the time we focus on goal setting at the beginning of the year and by the time March comes around a lot of us have already stopped pursuing our goals for the year.
This shouldn't be the case and I hope that these 13 quotes will light a fire under your butt to keep pursuing your goals and fight even harder to achieve them. For those of you that don't have any goals or already stopped trying, create some new goals after you read this article and make it happen! All it takes is one step at a time. If you want help or feel like you need someone to talk to, feel free to send me an email and I'd love to connect with you.
"If you set goals and go after them with all the determination you can muster, your gifts will take you places that will amaze you." – Les Brown
"The trouble with not having a goal is that you can spend you life running up and down the field and never score." - Bill Copeland

Building connections is the key to unlocking human potential. All of the greatest companies in the world were created through relationships. At the start there may have only been one person with an idea, but it takes a community of people to make that idea take off. Or, there may have been a team of people working together to create something special. However you look at it, no one and no company would be where they are without the power of connections.
Take MVMT Watches for example. Would Jake Kassan and Kramer LaPlante, the cofounders, been able to create the globally known brand without the help of a great team? Would they have been able to create a global community of loyal followers if they didn’t first build connections?
In this episode of The Elevate Beyond Show, we feature the trick shot twins aka Jake and Pete Randall. In just under two years, they've built a global following of over 100,000 on Instagram alone thanks to their funny, basketball trick shot videos.
We talk about their secret sauce to growing a loyal social media following, what the future holds for them as soon to be college grads, and how they work together and use their twin connection to make hilarious videos.

When you think of a fun time, do you immediately think of going to a networking event or professional conference? Probably not. You probably consider binge watching the latest season of The Office on Netflix or going to 2 for 1 happy hour a fun time.
When you go to a networking event, you have two choices. You can go and wish you were somewhere else the whole time or you can commit to networking and try to make some new connections. And, let me tell you something… it’s easy to spot the people who are there because they feel they have to be and the people who are there because they want to be.
Part of being successful at a networking event is having a plan and strategy but more importantly having fun. Just because you are at a professional event, doesn’t mean you can’t laugh a bit and enjoy yourself. I recommend mixing business with a human element of getting to know someone’s journey and story. The best relationships don’t come from only discussing serious topics; they come from finding commonalities.
In this episode of The Elevate Beyond Show, we feature our very first guest, Coach R-Jay Barsh. Coach Barsh is the head men's basketball coach at Southeastern University, but more importantly he is a stellar human being.
We talk about what Coach Barsh's definition of success is, what he encourages others to do to keep moving forward, and we break down his David vs. Goliath mentality.
