FREE TRAINING: How To Write And Launch A Bestselling Book In 1 Hour A Day |
It's almost time! The launch of Elevate Your Network is coming and I am so thrilled for the world to read it.
I think some of the best books, blog posts, articles, content come when there's a purpose behind the message. There are a ton of people who can create great messaging, but for me having a WHY makes it that much more meaningful to both me as the creator and you as the consumer. I think this principle is true for life and business as well. A lot of thought has gone into my book and the "elevate" brand, so I figured it was time to share some of this logic. Now, for the good stuff and inspiration behind the book - the color scheme, why each chapter is called a Kelf Key, and why there are 25 Kelf Keys.
1. The color scheme
The colors of EYN are neon green, black, and white. When I was creating my first book I needed to decide on a color scheme that would become my go to. I thought about the normal colors, purple and gold for the Lakers, cardinal and gold for the Trojans, but neither felt right. I looked down at my wrist as saw a neon band that says Stroud Strong and I immediately got the chills. Stroud Strong comes from David Stroud, one of my really good friends, who in the midst of battling cancer said, "You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have." Dave, or Big D, as I used to call him is someone I will never forget and when I was reminded of him through my Stroud Strong band, I knew that the cover of my book was going to be neon green, black, and white. The neon green represents Dave's favorite color and it is in his honor that I chose the colors I did. Become Stroud Strong and RSVP to my launch party in LA here! Everyone is invited. 2. Why each chapter is called a Kelf Key Every chapter in Elevate Your Network is called a Kelf Key. They are listed Kelf Key #1, Kelf Key 2, and so on. I decided to do this rather that using only traditional names because research shows the strong "k" sound is extremely memorable and recognizable. There's a reason Coca-Cola, Kodak, and Spanx all have similar sounding brand names. The strong "k" sound also goes hand in hand with my last name - Kelfer. In my first book, Elevate Beyond, I used Kelf Keys as a way of giving simple and fun keys to success after DJ Khaled made keys the biggest word of the decade for millennials. Since Kelf Key combines my name with a positive experience, I decided to make each chapter a Kelf Key. Kelf Key of the Day: RSVP and come hang out at the launch party! 3. Why there are 25 Kelf Keys in Elevate Your Network This one goes back to David Stroud. Dave was the varsity captain of the basketball team and his number was always 25. When I was thinking about how many chapters or Kelf Keys I wanted to include, I was looking for a good number that wasn't too many or not enough. I was deciding between 15, 32 (Magic Johnson's number and unique), 50 (halfway to 100), but I didn't want this number to take away from the meaning of the book. That's when 25 came to me and I knew it was going to be perfect. It is the perfect number of Kelf Keys to keep the book around the length I wanted it, but also provide so much value to the readers that they will be able to implement right away. So there you have it and now you understand some of the motivation and thought process that went into the creation of Elevate Your Network. See you in LA for the launch party! If you can't make it you can still support and preorder the book on Amazon.
