Building connections is the key to unlocking human potential. All of the greatest companies in the world were created through relationships. At the start there may have only been one person with an idea, but it takes a community of people to make that idea take off. Or, there may have been a team of people working together to create something special. However you look at it, no one and no company would be where they are without the power of connections. Take MVMT Watches for example. Would Jake Kassan and Kramer LaPlante, the cofounders, been able to create the globally known brand without the help of a great team? Would they have been able to create a global community of loyal followers if they didn’t first build connections? Now, it isn’t guaranteed that if you build a great team and a global following you will have the success of MVMT Watches, but I can guarantee that if you don’t build connections you definitely won’t have their success or anything close to it. That’s why I propose everyone follow The 15 Minute Rule. The 15 Minute Rule suggests that you spend 15 minutes per day growing and fostering your relationships. Some of the ways you can do this include:
I call it The 15 Minute Rule because no matter how busy you are, you always have 15 minutes a day to connect with others. If you say you don’t, then pull out your phone and tell me how much time you spend on Instagram and other social media a day. 15 minutes isn’t set in stone. The number you use is up to you but the idea is the same across the board. Invest time in building connections because the sooner you start the more successful you will be.
