Month #10 is here! Following a record setting month of $1,300+ for PSC Partners for a Cure, it’s time for the final 3 organizations. As many of you know, I’ve been studying the science of happiness for quite some time so this month we will be raising money for Project Happiness. Before we dive in, let’s look back at our first 8 months:
As always, thank you in advance to everyone who’s participated in the Giving Challenge by sharing my posts, donating money, or just believing in the mission of helping others and spreading the good word. October is an interesting month because while it’s the 10th month of the year, it’s also the first month of the final quarter of the year. It’s the last chance for everyone to finish the year strong, but also the first chance to welcome fall. It’s almost time for the holidays, so let’s start this quarter off and the final 3 months by spreading HAPPINESS worldwide and donating to this incredible organization. I was first introduced to Project Happiness earlier this year. I didn’t know much about it, but after learning more I quickly became a fan. They featured one of my blog posts a little while back titled 11 Ways to Cultivate Positive Environments That Elevates Happiness. They have a fantastic team and choosing them as this month’s organization for the 2019 Giving Challenge is my way of returning some of the happiness back to them. They spread smiles and happiness across the world on a daily basis and if we can help them expand their reach through our donations this month, that would be very special. Fun Fact: Giving is a huge component to individual well being. Fun Fact #2: Happiness is something everyone, well almost everyone, wants. Therefore, to increase your happiness and get what you want in life, you should increase your giving… Try starting by giving to Project Happiness this month using the link here 🙂 All jokes aside, giving really does make an impact on your overall well being. For me, I’ve noticed a huge increase by giving. Just giving $5 here and there does the trick. So for the festive month of October, while the leaves change colors and people pick out their Halloween costumes, I ask that you consider jumping on the happiness train and giving a little to this great organization. What is Project Happiness? The World Health Organization has named depression as the greatest cause of suffering worldwide. In the U.S., 1 out of 5 deals with depression or anxiety. For youth, that number increases to 1 in 3. The good news is that 40% of our happiness can be influenced by intentional thoughts and actions, leading to life changing habits. Our goal is to impact 10,000,000 lives. Kindness, mindfulness, and all the other tools we can use are not just niceties – they are key to bringing out the best in us, and our society. The science is strong and the need is compelling. It’s exciting that we can now give those who need it most the tools to take charge of their own happiness, to become more aware, emotionally resilient, and develop the skills to navigate whatever life presents. Happiness, like all emotions, is contagious; for ourselves and generations to come, let’s create a world where everyone can thrive. Your support allows us to reach even more people who need it most. Help make the world a happier place. Project Happiness Mission Statement We are dedicated to empowering people with the resources to create greater happiness within themselves and the world.
