My ONE WORD for 2018

This year I want to do some amazing things. I want to release my second book, take my businesses international, create new programming and courses, speak all over the nation, and take the Professional Basketball Combine to the next level.
 
On a personal level, I want to achieve more financial freedom, eat healthier and take care of my body more than I ever have, have more fun and go on trips, love more, continue to appreciate the journey and so much more.
 
All of these things are possible and will happen, but it’s going to take more than me just writing them here. It’s going to take CONSISTENCY, and that, my friends, is my one word for 2018.
 
Inspired by one of my favorite authors, Jon Gordon, I’m focusing on the word CONSISTENCY for 2018. 

Jon created the one word idea to eliminate the endless amounts of goals and New Year’s resolutions that people set but never achieve. The idea is that one word gives you clarity and will help you create real change.
 
I’m not opposed to goals or New Year’s resolutions, and I have plenty, but I’m always willing to try new things to aid my process and the one word idea seems great.
 
I’ve told a few people that I am going to do this and some of them are joining me in picking a word. Some of the words include balance, simplicity and growth. The greatest part is there is no right word. It’s the word that you want to focus on and make a priority.
 
Here’s why I chose CONSISTENCY.
 
I know that in order to have a bigger influence on people, I need my work to be seen and heard. That requires more marketing, more blogging, more video, more social media, and more value.
 
I don’t just want to be another motivational speaker. I want to be one of the best in the world.
 
I don’t want to just be another writer. I want to be an author that changes the lives of millions of people.
 
I don’t want to just have a mediocre combine. I want to create a bigger and better Professional Basketball Combine that is known across the globe and provides opportunities players couldn’t have imagined in their wildest dreams.
 
I don’t want to just be average. I want to be the best I can be and live my definition of success everyday!
 
In order to do all of these things, I have to be more consistent with my work. I need to write more frequently, connect more intentionally, and work more purposefully.
 
I don’t have it all figured out today, but I know that by focusing on my one word, it will serve as a reminder to hold me accountable to do the things I need to in order to continue making my definition of success my reality.
