FREE TRAINING: How To Write And Launch A Bestselling Book In 1 Hour A Day |
Month #8 is here! We are 7 for 7 with over $1,800 raised. This month we aim to keep our streak of raising $100+ alive by raising money for the LucStrong Foundation. Before we dive in, let’s look back at the first half:
As always, thank you in advance to everyone who’s participated in the Giving Challenge by sharing my posts, donating money, or just believing in the mission of helping others and spreading the good word. The LucStrong Foundation was first introduced to me by a good friend JD Slajchert, author of Moonflower. JD wrote his first novel (you should get it), in honor of his good friend Luc who suffered from Sickle Cell Disease (SCD). I was first introduced to JD and the LucStrong Foundation through our mutual friend Danny, a rising star in the music industry. He told me that I needed to meet JD and give him some pointers on how to have a successful book launch. Over the past year, we’ve gotten to know each other and to be able to support the LucStrong Foundation as Month #8 of the 2019 Giving Challenge is an absolute pleasure. And I can’t forget to mention this, but on August 3rd, I will be taking my kickball talents to Newbury Park, CA to compete in the 3rd Annual LucStrong Kickball Fundraiser. According to the LucStrong Foundation website, SCD occurs in about 1 out of every 365 African American births and about 1 out of every 16,300 Latino-American births. The only known cure for SCD is a Bone Marrow Transplant, in which the cost is extensive.” So I ask you all for the month of August to spread the word and donate to help fight the battle against Sickle Cell Disease. Our campaign for this month is here. What is the LucStrong Foundation? The LucStrong Foundation is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit providing grants to families with children (between the ages of 1 and 17) who are diagnosed with Sickle Cell Disease (SCD) and are going through the Bone Marrow Transplant or Gene Therapy process. The goal of the LucStrong Foundation is to help alleviate some of the financial burdens of families who have a child in the transplant/therapy process. Many families who enter the bone marrow transplant and gene therapy process find themselves in great emotional and financial strain and as a result, are unable to meet some of their basic living expenses. The LucStrong Foundation offers grants, parking vouchers and gift cards to assist eligible families in meeting the financial challenges they are faced with. Established in 2017, The LucStrong Foundation operates out of Ventura County, CA. LucStrong Foundation Mission The goal of the LucStrong Foundation is to help alleviate some of the financial burdens of families who have a child in the transplant/therapy process.
