Success Spotlight with Christen Harper, Model at LA Models
How do you define success? I think everybody is going to have their own definition of what it means to be successful. So many times I think people wrongly connect success with financial stability and affluence. Success to me is not a number or a particular lifestyle. Success is a state of happiness and contentment with who you are as an individual. Maya Angelou once said “Success is liking yourself, liking what you do, and liking how you do it." Her words have resonated with me throughout my journey; they remind me how important it is to be true to yourself and kind to others along your road to success. Success isn’t taking shortcuts or putting down others to bring you up. You will only find success when you rightfully and kindly accomplish your goals.

Success Spotlight with Mike Yudin: Strength and Conditioning Coach and Owner of Team Yudin Training
How do you define success? It's funny. Over the years my definition of success has changed. When I was a kid I thought success meant having the most money (being a millionaire) or having the most material things (cars,houses,etc.). Now for me, I don't define success like that. I don't need a million dollars. I view my success through the success my clients have. For example, I have different clients, ranging from elementary school kids to adults. Some are here to get bigger, faster, stronger for athletics and others are here to become more fit and to lose weight so they can live a longer more enjoyable life. If I can help people reach their goals and be happy then I consider myself successful because I have made an impact in a positive way. Success Spotlight with Greg Hayes: Coach, Mentor, and Teacher

Success Spotlight with Anne Baker: Makeup Artist
How do you define success? To me, success is something that totally varies from person to person. I think that I’m successful when I’m happy. I think that I’m successful when I’m doing what I love. Makeup artistry, as a career, is mostly centered around making other people feel beautiful and happy-and that’s another thing that makes me feel successful. I love to make people feel good about themselves. I also believe that success is built around taking the challenges and obstacles that are placed in front of you and not only conquering them but learning from them to use to your advantage. For me, success also ties into feeling that my work is appreciated by others-it feels good when people acknowledge your hard work. I have so many interests in life, and makeup artistry is just one of them. I don’t like to limit myself and I think that is something that will help me achieve the success I’m looking for. All in all, success to me is doing the best I can every day to better myself and others around me. Success Spotlight with Bree Blatchford: Founder and Chief Executive Officer of The Orange Bead Collective
How do you define success? To me, success is living every day to the fullest in mind, body, and soul. I know that phrase can get overused, but it really is a meaningful motto to live by, especially in today’s world. We get so wrapped up in minute details of everyday material and social frivolity; it is hard to remember to enjoy the ride. The extreme circumstances that put us here and allow us to wake up every morning are absolutely extraordinary and forgetting that causes us to forget our mortality all together. Successful living is being aware of this fact and submerging oneself in the experience of the day; the corny joke cracked by your dad at breakfast, the fall leaves rustling on the branches of a tree, the cold brew you buy and drink from your local coffee shop. All of these moments define success to me as a whole. Success Spotlight with Easton Gray Fier: Brand Manager at Rufus Labs
How would you define success? My professional success involves combing three important facets: developing a career that 1) I am extremely skilled in, 2) can change the world for the better, and 3) I am the most passionate about. Most people can achieve one or two of those characteristics in their life, but finding something that combines all three can be a daunting task. I strive for a professional path that will complement my idea of personal success, which to me means having one hell of a time enjoying all life has to offer with the people I love the most. Success Spotlight with Kyle Matthew: Aspiring Actor and Student at USC
How would you define success? As someone who constantly aspires to be inspired, I am constantly seeking mantras to further intensify my passions. For my personal definition of success, I believe Winston Churchill articulated it best: “Success is stumbling from failure to failure with no loss of enthusiasm.” |
